EDIT: Wow, after reading their manual and looking at more pictures they look like a blend of the Lightspeeds and Clarity's. They use the same foam tips as the Clarity's, but they still have that black box that the L1's have.

Nope, the Auricom by Quiet Technologies was on the market long before Lightspeed came out with their version. If anything, I expect Lightpeed is selling QT's design under liscense.
I became aware of the Auricom through an article in Aviation Consumer at least a 1.5 years ago.
