Life at Compass

Hi,

What do you wear to orientation? Suit and tie or semi casual?

Besides conditional offer paper you receive at the end of the interview, do you recieve any other email/ documents such as what to bring to your orientation? If so, how many days prior to the orientation?

When you are sent home for two weeks of CBT, do you communicate/study with your classmates or do you guys typically spend this two weeks alone?

Thanks

What type of pain was that?
I was told by @Seggy that I should wear a suit to my first day of ground school at Colgan Air. Since this person was an employee and a Captain I took his advice. When I came down stairs and saw my fellow classmates in khakis and polo shirts I knew I was duped. The ridicule and emotional scaring that took place was enough for me to not ever let that happen again. I laugh about it now but it was a painful day to say the least.

To wit:

There should be no hazing in the 121 world.

That's pretty good! Well played.

Khakis and a collared shirt.

I don't think anyone should go through the pain I did over six years ago.

This is what you will see everyone wearing.

I usually wear a tie. I'm a bloody professional, and professionals don't need to make excuses about looking good.

But khakis and a collard shirt works fine.

Jtrain609,

My question of what to wear is for the single day orientation and not actual class. So khakis and dress shirt is ok and common for this one day orientation?

Also where do most stay for the orientation? Any recommendation for hotel?

Thanks!

Yeah, slacks/dress pants and a collared shirt is fine for orientation day and I stayed at the Holliday Inn where they put you up for the interview. Call the hotel direct and ask to talk to the GM. Tell him you are with Compass and he can give you a rate not much more than the rate Compass pays..

Thanks JetDoc,

Besides the Condition Offer letter we get after the interview, are there any other email or documents you recieve prior to orientation?

Besides the items on the offer letter, I would like to know if there are any other items I need to begin to the orientation, if any.

Thanks!
