Life at Compass

I think you are in the class after me, I heard you guys got some crazy time off after MV, but hey you get one warm up session after 2 weeks off o_O

Unrelated note, instructor was telling me two new hires got caught in the MSP offices snooping around looking at LOE profiles. Whoops!
What class are you? I'm 0115 and have 17 days off from my MV to GBL1. Did my MV last week. Don't go back until the 9th and finish the 16th....

TSH must love paying us all to drink and travel!
Im 12/23. I have 4 days off from LOFT and LOE and am mildly concerned about jumping right into the checkride. I asked to sit in on my SIM partners LOFT the night before my LOE and got a blank stare. I didnt think that was unreasonable.

That's crazy. You guys must have had minimal time off. Don't know what to say about that LOFT thing. I'm assuming that it is because the LOFT is an evaluation (I believe).

I should have clarified, orientation 12/23 and first day of class was 1/12. But yeah the schedule I got had about 2 days off between SITS/FPT and 3 off between PV and SIM. Not alot of downtime and Im starting to feel it.

My instructor said that as long as my partner was ok with it and his instructor was ok with it he didnt see the harm but still had the "are you sure you really wanna do that" stare going. I thought it would be a good way to observe, get my brain back in the rhythm of things and pick something up along the way. It really helped to sit in on other FPT before my PV.

So you're in the class after us and your finishing training a week before we even start LOFT! Good luck, I'm scared coming off of 17 days that I won't be up to snuff.

I would be more worried if I had 18 days off between the MV and LOE than if I had 4. Don't stress and just take a deep breath before you run a QRH and you will be fine.

I'm in class 3-15. I only had 2 days off between the PV and the start of sims and was supposed to have 11 days off between the MV and GBL but that was cut down to 10 when the sim broke right in the middle of sim 6 and we couldn't finish my partners half. I have already had my LOFTpushed back a day and as it stands now my LOE is scheduled for Friday 3-13. Don't sweat the LOE. The MV was the hard one. Just make good decisions and you'll be fine.

Relax, take a breath. The hard part is already over... you made it through GOS and systems with SW correct? You can do anything then.

Seriously, the MV has all the hard stuff the LOE is a line flight. Just be a good FO-- the captain will be calling all the shots.

This. Just don't bust limitations, SOP, or get the red screen.

I do like the mounts in the airplane much better than sitting it in top if my bag on the side.....but what happens if we have to read the Evac checklist....how exactly are we to get to that in a timely manner?

Someone said they were thinking of just adding it to the back cover of the QRH.

Did you come from SKW? Does everyone give you the "WHHHAT? You came from WHERE?" reaction?

Speaking of the mounts, the new plastic ones have been cracking and falling off, so if that's a trend that continues, might be back to the drawing board...

That's funny my sim partner for new-hire and upgrade came from SKW. He routinely got the same reaction you did when he said he came from SKW from everybody in training, and he even received it out on the line from some of Captains he flew with too. Needless to say it has worked well for him accept his transcon commute, and this place will work well for you.
