Life at Compass

The real question, though, is if there was anything in follow on exams that required a higher level of understanding of 3585?
Time spent on understanding 3585: too much. (Fish the FOM out of the airside kit and look, if you're ever dispatched under it. You won't remember all the provisions, I guarantee it.)

Times used on line: once, and the weather improved and we were redispatched without the exemption.

3585 is one thing but what else? Would the instructor say lets just move right along the FMS, Auto Pilot, etc. because most of you already know how to use it?

Thanks!

Let me put it this way. The way things are laid out, you do systems for 4 hours a day in class for about 4 or 5 days. You're expected to learn as much as you can in the CBT and the systems class is just a review for the test and your oral.

Study what they tell you to study, and if you have questions ask them during class. If you do that, you will pass training.

Don't understand what exemption 3585 is? Ask during class. Don't sit there silently if you don't understand something because you're worried the question is stupid. Your interest is your success, so do what it takes to make it happen.

I was the only guy in my class without previous FMS experience. It definitely took me longer than the others to get my head wrapped around the button pushing. Put in some extra time on the FMS simulator if you can because just reading it out of the AOM isn't a practical way to learn it. Luckily I've had @motormadness24 propping me up through the training.

Lots of bypassers too... Why is that? They should have the SIC hours by now shouldn't they?
I think they might be short by 2-3 months or so. Mid January class probably finished ioe mid April so I would assume they have 800 or so hours. I was a March hire and have 650 or so. Only working 60 hours this month hasn't helped but the vacation was fun.

You riding at all on your days off? We're under a few feet of snow up here so all I'm stuck on my trainer.

Sometimes I stalk people on here in the plane to make sure they're doing their PAs in the cabin.

Yesterday the stalkee passed with flying colors.

Later, in flight, he received a major award.

Was there photographic evidence of this most standard of passenger briefings?
