Life at Compass

Can you define "off?" As in, they'll be sitting at home doing the home based CBTs "off," or sitting at home doing nothing "off?"

Additionally, what's the training pay at Compass? Thanks.
Doing cbt's.

It is a fraction of monthly guarantee during the home study. Once you are back it is guarantee.

Interviewed today with 4 others. Passed and got a 12/23 class date! Hopefully I get called for an earlier one! Thanks for all the help everyone!
Congrats!

Off at home doing CBTs. Pay is 18.5 hrs during CBTs. After, I believe it is MMG.

Got off the phone with HR recruiter. I was told hiring between September 4th, 2014 through November 2015. Initially they had a hiring goal of around 380, now the goal is 440. Recruiter said she wasn't sure of the reason for additional pilots, but speculated at updated forecast for attrition and or options for more American E175s.

110 should start class by the end of the year. 16 in September, 24 in October, 40 in November, 30 in December. Classes of 10 a week starting in November. The first class of December starts the 18th. I assume scheduled later for spacing into sim training because the CBT time goes from 30-days to 14-days. New hires should expect MSP for sim, STL is planned for upgrades.

Good to know....I'm hoping for a miracle and STL Sim so they will cover lodging :)

I have a few questions for you compass folks. What is the commuting policy like at compass? Are all new hires going to LAX? How long would a new hire likely have to wait before getting DTW based?

Yes. Most jr DTW FO is a 3/14 hire but i'd guess with the amount of hiring that needs to be done you will be able to hold your base of choice in a relatively short amount of time.

You will be able to hold DTW as an FO eventually, but be warned, since it will be the smallest (and most senior) base by far in the current plan, movement will be slow, and the most junior DTW CA is likely already in upgrade. As with all things I could be wrong, but the base shrinking and block hours increasing out west isn't helping movement here in DTW.

DTW isn't going to shrink! Ask anybody! That rumor has been around for years! DTW is fine! Everything's great!
