Life at Compass

Thanks for the write up, just trying to to some due diligence and I agree about the Majors and LCC's possibly creating some movement. From everything I have read, it seems like crews are happy but the company culture/management is less than desirable. I'm on the fence about regionals but may be pulling the trigger soon.

The company culture didn't used to be this way, that's the frustrating part. It's like the TSH company motto is we're not happy till you're not happy...

My advice is if you are even considering it, apply. Like 5 minutes ago. Think about it, when they ask to schedule an interview, if you are still interested, come interview. If when they offer you can still say no if you've changed your mind, but considering if you get on now vs a couple of months down the road, you can be looking at a swing of 40-60 numbers...

Good point. I already have an airlineapps account set up and adding Compass wouldn't take long.

The crews at compass are great. Unfortunatly, TSH is starting to meddle more and more. Exactly what that will mean long term for CP, is anyone's guess.

When you say, "TSH is starting to meddle more," how so? How has the company/culture changed?

When cp was sold to TSH, they were pretty much left to operate as they had under delta. Now most of the hotels are being changed to worst options (with some being changed back due to complaints) upper management making decisions that are blatantly against the contract but not caring anyway. And let's not forget after we "agreed" on a new contract, it took 6 months to sign bc they began to realize what they agreed to.

Our chief pilots are fantastic, and do a great job of shielding the line pilots from most of it.

And not for the better. Trip advisor wasn't too kind to it...
Oh ya, those pics were great. Especially the moldy bathroom shower tub. Scandals required.

Apparently IAH changed back to the Sheraton... and FA found a gunshot in her room at the other one. Yikes!

The Crown in SFO is OK... I really hope they don't mess with SAN. It was really nice when I went there last week, and it's downtown and within walking distance to a lot of good stuff.

SO THATS WHAT HAPPENED! I heard something but not exactly what.

I was pretty happy with the CP in SFO. Walking distance to the park, decent restaurants around, and there was that F1 go-cart place nearby that I totally wanted to try.

I haven't done SAN yet (don't see much of cali anymore.) Glad to hear there are still some nicer hotels that are getting through. I know that its not the committees fault on these though...hence my earlier post about meddling...

whoever is overnighting in SAN on 6/21 is a lucky son of a gun! the Waterfront bar and grill (10 min walk) is having an 'Anything But Clothes' party that day!

There are some crashpads and other places for rent listed in the MSP crewroom. Next time you're at the airport stop by and check 'em out. There are a few others up in the hallway that are, I dunno, from the Endeavor or SkyWest guys?

Craigslist might work out too. I don't know if any of the universities rent out dorms for the summer, but St. Thomas, Macalester and U of M are all within 20 minute drive of the airport and/or schoolhouse.

Good luck.

Will

Not to mention that you can now take the new light rail line from those university areas to MSP.
