If I hold it on this one, then it will have taken me 7 years and 11 months to upgrade based on when I was hired at my first regional.
That period of time included 1 furlough for 2.5 years, one LOA for a year, 5 bases, 5 initial or upgrade training cycles, two regional airlines and a law degree in a pear tree.
So yeah...it basically means they have to get rid of me.
it's okay to have the first world problem of if you will upgrade in time to make it take the place of your first 12 month checkride. And you are one of many reasons why I try not to complain too much these days. Hah
I'm optimistic for you this realignment.

You get min. guarantee once you get back from home study. If someone has gap of month(s) inbetween training, does the person get paid during the gap? how many hours worth?
So if I finish ground school and have to wait 2 months for sim, do I get paid during the wait time or two months?
Thanks!

The training department is overwhelmed. Friend of mine showed up for SIT's last week, got one day in and then was sent home for three days. He shows up this morning and was told that his schedule had been "adjusted" again with a couple of more days off... He's not happy...

Nope. Finally pulled the plug right when I could've held Newark on the Shuttle cert. Tough, tough decision ($$), but realized it wasn't worth it. I've 2 legged it for 7 years and chose the 22 nonstop options a day from SMF and the chance to see my family over the money. No contract in sight at Republic and crooks running the joint. Couldn't take it anymore. Hoping the jump is worth it. Though getting jerked around daily in training ain't helping.Didn't you upgrade at Republic?

Imagine those numbers if you had stayed at your first regional....
Just enjoy the time off and know that every Thursday 10 more guys are below you on the seniority list.
Although, the paying for housing thing would suck in a scenario like this.
Question: If Compass were to hire street captains would they have to go through new hire training as well as upgrade, or could they just go into upgrade training?
