Layover food

Didn't feel like eating a big meal in UIO so I just wandered around looking for some small bites here and there

(I hope nobody gets jealous of my amazing lifestyle and all the fancy places I get to go, or the amazing food I get to eat on my awesome 11 hour layovers. Sometimes I even splurge $60 for dinner, just for me, on epic restaurants like ... sonic, the only place open ... delivered by doordash.)

I don't love the food in Hailey. There's an ok thai place, and that's probably the best. There's Powerhouse, but again, they try to be good, but they're just ok. There's some VERY mediocre pizza, but that's all I can think of. Most of the food I've had there has been not great, and it all closes super early (<2100). We've been getting there 2100-2200ish, and they have us at a new roach motel down on the highway on the other side of the airport called Silver Creek. Walls so thin you can hear your neighbor fart, black stains on the curtains, gross carpeting, unfriendly staff. The only thing around that's open even remotely late is a domino's pizza that has a 2.6 star rating, and even they close at 10 iirc.

We do get an overnight in the Limelight now and again, and that's slightly better, but far away.

A few people seem to really like the Sun Valley overnights, but I don't really see why. It's a small Idaho town with nasty brown hills around it. I'm there all the time.

Supposed to be there tonight, in fact, but caught a stomach bug.
 
Yeah that makes it difficult. I like the Thai place for the quick lunch stops or CK’s Real Food for dinner.

I believe the Thai restaurant and the sushi restaurant are the same owners.

Ketchum is definitely nicer.
 
Thru the wonders of being jerked around by scheduling, I found myself in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai in the span of 5 days…

So what to do in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai?

At the time I went to Tokyo DisneySea, I thought I was going to Incheon next, then to Anchorage. But got rerouted while I was at DisneySea that I had a schedule change and was going to Hong Kong next.
Didn’t know I was going to Shanghai until the day after I left Hong Kong.. By then I had already gone to 2 Disneys, so I couldn’t not go to the third one. Didn’t plan on going to 3 Disneys in one week but I guess there’s worse ways to spend $300 - I could have gotten a soapie for $300 instead.

Actually didnt eat anything at HK Disneyland. Instead after I’d gotten over and sick of Disney, I found a yakiniku to gorge on Waygu beef somewhere in kowloon
