So what's the problem? It's 11 degree's, that gives you almost 6,000 feet of altitude to play with.

You don't have XM in that thing?

It was fine until about 4, then we got some ice in the pattern.

I would've flown through that, good X wind flying!

I wouldn't go through it without having some uplinked weather radar so I could give the thunderstorms a wide berth, but ice would be the least of my concerns with those temps.

Even at gusting to 29 knots, a Cirrus should be able to handle that eh? You can do that in a 172 if you're proficient.

didn't seem as windy as reported today, did some hops in the pattern, but surprisingly ice did come about for a few a/c...

ice+172=not fun!

Vanilla Ice agrees.

If you were to ask around, I'm sure most of us on here have picked up ice in some type of little bugmasher. I know I have 3 or 4 times, and each time it was an "Oh crap, lets get the heck out of here!" occasion.

Well if the winds stay that way, I will still be flying tomorrow :). However it shouldnt be that bad. Also IND has 14/32? Winds are going to be straight down the runway? :) I know my C-172 that I will fly tomorrow can take it, i know that can as well.....

What were you coming to indy for? :)
