KELP closed… for 10 days

Never been to ANC, but it sounds like ABQ's colder, northern sister.
I really like it here, but it's still... ummm, the frontier? That makes it sound kind of special, but the thing I like is that there's opportunity even for a has-been like me, and people don't screw with you? The cost for privacy and opportunity is you have to periodically witness a grown man • in the park by the airport when you're turning base or wonder if the driver who rear-ended you in the snow had insurance every 2 years.

On the flip side, you can pretty much do whatever you want. Which is probably why people are •ting in parks or driving around uninsured.

I used to have similar thoughts about ABQ being kinda special, but my time there ran its course.
