KCM since the no uniform change

Boston...

Tuesday this week. Show up to the KCM checkpoint with crew (4 total).

Currently using the checkpoint is female in civilian clothes.

Two FAs from my crew get through.

I am next and am randomly selected to go through full security.

Gee...thanks. I am the one going to work and the civilian gets on through, awesome.

We were delayed because of it and I submitted an appropriate company form due to the delay.

If that's how it is gonna be, or at least appear to be, I won't be a huge fan. Only one incident so far, so I'll hold off on going full rage - but my crew was not thrilled and was a bit miffed by the whole incident.

And do you think I went to the front of the line at real security? Nope.
So you are mad because you were the number picked for the random screening....wouldn't be too random if they picked who to screen....

I have been randomly selected twice in the past month...the first time a bag swab and today they wanted to look in my bag....oh well....a 15 second delay....oh the horror

Yes.

But the only reason why is that while I was forgetful here, I am REALLY sorry for him that he has bicycle handlebars at work.

And according to @Autothrust Blue, it's GOT VACUUM FLUSH TOILETS! WOoOOOOoOoOoooO! ;)

Admittedly, I actually paid attention during the subsequent PDP (Pre-Departure Piss)
i just wish it had a little more head room....i have to do an awkward bend for the pre departure piss so i know tall doug definitely has to

I love KCM.

The SAAB is the first smallish airplane I have had to pee in. I feel your pain.

You don't know pain in the Swedish love bus until the capt turns the batteries off to kill the lights and pounds on the wall behind the FO seat to get the toilet seat to fall down mid stream. Joys of being a new hire on it.
Freddy just has the urinal taped over.....plenty of room to lay down in that lav....not that you would want to....well unless you are @frog_flyer

Hahaha. I went to use the lav on the ground the other day before the GPU was plugged in. Totally forgot you needed 28v for those lights. Its awfully dark in there! I still dont want to use our ex Colgan airplane with the aft lav. I avoid the walk of shame.

Company put out a memo about that.

KCM point, random check, in uniform, TSA Pre-check, leave your stuff in your bags, no problem

KCM point, random check, OUT of uniform, regular passenger screening and everything better be "normal passenger" compliant, or you're not going to have a good time.

I figure it's a pretty easily policy to understand and follow. If I don't want the hassle, I can wear civilian clothes and travel with "3 ounce inna bag" rule. But the policy reads like you're absolutely rolling the dice going through the KCM point with civilian clothes.

Yup. Stupid that we have to deal with that, but it is what it is. Yelling at a smurf isn't going to make things change, nor is it probably going to expedite your passage through the grope fest. It's like the guys that get angry on ops frequency...I haven't gotten anything by yelling since I was a baby.

thats the best walk on the c5....especially when another crew is deadheading with you....when they see a pilot in the troop they know exactly what you are there for....and you do this walk:

Or like when I used the phrase "Sisyphean Effort" on JFK OPS. What did it change? Nothing. :)

I had this happen in SEA but they escorted me to the front of the pax line in a very friendly manner. Honestly I just assumed that was policy. Apparently not... Were you in uniform? Is there not a separate crew line for non KCM employees?

Was I in uniform?

Absolutely...I was going to work for day four with the rest of my crew.

And for whoever asked, I had no boarding pass and had to use my crew Id to even get into the security line.
