Kalitta 727 FE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: FAA Flight Engineer, a second-class FAA medical certificate. Experience in the B-727 preferred. May consider candidates with the FE written exam. Candidates with an Airframe or Powerplant license will be given additional consideration
No. I have an ATP though. Does that help?
not if you want to be a Flight Engineer...does that help?

So get the King School FE exam prep and take the dang test.

Ouch, that's a little big! ;)

MS, I'd heavily suggest getting that FE written take care of if you're interested in the job.

I did one of those "in by 0800/out by 1500 with a test result" courses and it served me well.

It was a simple question dude. No need to get rude about it. I thought that having an ATP would trump the FE written since it's the highest grade certificate you can get. Relax man. Do you honestly think I didn't read the whole listing......

For the record, absolutely not.

A flight engineer doesn't even have to be a pilot. Kristie can go get her FE-written and get hired to be a Flight Engineer and undergo training and all she's got is about 20 minutes in an L1011 simulator.

An ATP written does not satisfy the minimum requirement for the job posting because they probably want you to "hit the ground running" in an FE training program rather than taking a few weeks to get an FE Turbojet written.

An applicant can have one by the end of the weekend, if interested.

Edit:
Not a whole lot of guys have FEw's, so here's your chance to get your foot in the door! DOOO ITTTTTT! :)

The for new FEs the instructors are good but you do hit the ground running and better be able to drink from a fire hose. You will not have time to study both. Besides the company would be our a lot of time and money if you bombed the written before the checkride.

Sorry, it appeared that you applied knowing that you weren't qualified...

He applied thinking he had the qualifications, when he was told he didn't, he asked an honest question, and you proceeded to belittle him. Awesome... Even after explaining his intentions, you still are belittling him to backtrack. Typical.

Personally I would give your thoughts more consideration if you weren't one of the poster boys for negative networking.

[moderator mode]

I'd suggest that you might have a more positive outcome taking your complaints to Doug rather than airing your personal feud with a moderator in public.

Regardless, he's a moderator, he should be setting the example.

What do you intend on accomplishing? As far as I know, there's every Tom, Dick and Harry that Googled "Kalitta 727 Jobs" that are watching this thread turn into a slow motion train wreck. You two are having a personality conflict and I don't think the website, at large, gives a poop so handle it like a man.

I can assure you that there are more eyeballs watching the forum than is readily apparent.
