Just My Luck

at least you had some kind of services there. We flatted a nose tire at KBXK around midnight a few months ago.

thank god for a refrigerator full of snacks and a pocket full of ones!

I had a nose wheel go flat on me a couple years ago while taxiing out. We were at KSUS around midnight. We called up tower to cancel our flightplan and then called the fbo. It was only like 10 degrees outside, so we were thankful for the airport cop that came out and let us sit in the back of his cruiser while we waited for the line guy to come out. Needless to say, we found a convenience store for some beer and a hotel that had a crew rate with the fbo.

I'm glad operations was able to help you out. The aiport where I worked in operations we weren't allowed, nor did we even have the tools, to tow an a/c off the runway/taxiway. Fortunately one flight school would help out since they had one of those dollies. It happened fairly frequently. Seriously, this was a fairly major Part 139 airport in the SoCal basin and we couldn't do anything to help other than inform the tower of a runway closure and issue an immediate NOTAM.
