I remember some guy that came up to us once and said he was a Private and if we needed help he'd be in the back. The CA turned around and said: "Son, if you can start it up, its yours!" ... lol![]()
Always have. Nothing new.I thought NetJets was paying for the pilots to travel now?
Although CASS is being considered. As was said NetJets isn't in CASS and doesn't have agreements with many airlines so those guys you see are riding on a company paid ticket.

We had a private pilot get on the plane during my transition OE to the CRJ-900 and he told us he'd been flying since (insert long ago decade here, possibly 60s), and he'd be keeping his eye on us to make sure we did well. "Thanks bud, 'preciate the help!"

Airline folks, correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a feeling 99% of the pilots don't care if you stop by to say hi or not when you've got a ticket.

Understandable. I stand out pretty good. I look like the stay puft marshmallow man with epaulets and pants. From a safety standpoint it is good to know about on duty and off duty crew members. Even if you don't work for my airline, you bet your ass if crap hits the fan, I will use you if need be.
Could care less if you stop by if you are on a paid ticket or on pass travel, but it is nice to know if you can make yourself visiable via an ID hanging out, uniform, etc.
I always feel awkward walking in without introducing myself (since the company seems to insist we travel to work and home in uniform...) but 99% of the time I just make my way to my seat, plop down, shove my case under the seat and I'm normally sleeping before the cabin door is shut.
One time, I had a FA tell me I should go talk to the captain. I did. He told me a dirty joke (not awfully dirty, but one I wouldn't tell my wife's grandmother). We chuckled. It was no big deal. Preachin to the choir. This place could screw up a wet dream.Personally, I'd rather just blend in and not stick out like a sore thumb like you tend to do when dressed the part.
