"Join a 3-Mile Left Base"

Quite honestly, the older (and more experienced) I get, the less interested in turboprop pilot chest thumping I get; the quite frankly stupid crap that used to be done with revenue, 121 passengers in back no longer interests me. Give me an RNAV RNP approach every time.

That's similarly how I feel about crossing over into 121 flying from a career as a high-performance fighter and trainer pilot.

Twice in 121 interviews I was asked, essentially, "how are you going to be able to adapt to the relative boredom of flying a 'bus' around after years of 'Mach 2 with your hair on fire'?"

It is a pretty easy answer. At this point in my life, "boring" means safe, and safe means I get to go home and see mom and the kids at night. That sounds *exactly* like what I want in an aviation job.

No, I get it, as you weren't a 'Last of the Mohicans'.

I was :)

BTW, not sure what you did in the Bro, but we never did anything 'stupid'. It was just hard work. We had tools at our disposal to help with that work. Hence the allowance of circling approaches.

I believe AMF still does circles to mins in the 1900, SA227, and maybe the Bro...

Single pilot (except the Bro)...

Should start a new thread called "Our Company's Approach Minima Criteria" because the last page has nothing to do with this topic.

So, mostly, what I got out of this thread is that options 1-3 are ALL in play depending on the controller.

Cool.
