I kinda miss Church's, for the fried okra if nothing else.
Popeyes has better chicken, and their biscuits are quite alllalalalalal... mmnr.
I think they must load the damn stuff down with MSG, 'cause there ain't nothin' in nature that tastes that good 'cept seaweed.

Where did that come from, anyway? ^.^ I grew up on fried chicken, barbecue, iced tea, fried okra, grits, fatback, collards, black eyed peas, watermelon, etc., and I only ever heard the term 'soul food' after I left the south.
Also, I never in my life heard of "chicken and waffles", which is apparently the new big "traditional southern food".

Really? Chicken and waffles has been around Atlanta since I was a kid. I never understood it, but some people swear by the combo.

Duuuude, that was the 80s. IF you caught, you got a slap on the wrist. If you didn't, you made a million dollars a flight. These days? Not so much. If you get caught, and the chances are good you will, it's more like 20-life. DHS/CBP is running AWACS all over Central America. CIA and DEA are running ops all over... granted, mostly to control the trade for their own benefit... but also because the SA prostitutes (can I say the W word here?) are so fine.
