JetBlue ALPA to Start Negotiations Soon

Hopefully we can maintain good 190 rates. I'd hate for them to sellout 190 pay in exchange for a small bump in 320 pay. Fortunately one or two of the guys on the negotiating committee are on the 190. I know they're tasked to carry out the MEC's wishes but still....

For the senior guys who were never on the 190, it seems like it's out of sight, out of mind (unless they commute on it). I'm all for making sure the top rates are good but lets make sure everyone on the list is comfortable.

What's the % split between the 190 and the bus? Because we just voted to make that split larger, which is very bad for yall.

You did?! Nice!

Yep. I knew I would be able to hold the bus as soon as my equipment lock was up, it was just a matter of which base. I can hold a damn good line in JFK and BOS, I can hold an okay line in FLL, and I'd be on the border of reserve/line holder in LGB depending on what the senior guys did. The fact that I could grab MCO, though, was a shock. I was expecting at least another year before I could hold MCO 320 FO. I don't even care that I'm third from the bottom with the reserve system here. I could hold a line in MCO on the 190, but I was bidding reserve by choice. Lines were only about 4-5 hours more a month than reserve, and I was only flying 2-3 times a month on reserve. Why kill myself for 4-5 more hours?

Now, the Bus is probably gonna be different. It's REALLY different if you've got less than 100 hours since you're #1 for everything on reserve until you hit that point. By May, I'll have that 100 hours, so we'll see how it shakes out. Talking to the other guys in base it runs anywhere from once or twice a week to not flying for a couple of weeks.

I wonder how the bus is at JFK for reserve. I'll be joining the fold soon.

Depends a lot on time of year. Winter snow events and Summer lines of thunderstorms cause the most disruptions...Also those are the busiest times of year with the highest numbers of flights. You'll fly the most then. September and October are downright quiet.
