Yep. I knew I would be able to hold the bus as soon as my equipment lock was up, it was just a matter of which base. I can hold a damn good line in JFK and BOS, I can hold an okay line in FLL, and I'd be on the border of reserve/line holder in LGB depending on what the senior guys did. The fact that I could grab MCO, though, was a shock. I was expecting at least another year before I could hold MCO 320 FO. I don't even care that I'm third from the bottom with the reserve system here. I could hold a line in MCO on the 190, but I was bidding reserve by choice. Lines were only about 4-5 hours more a month than reserve, and I was only flying 2-3 times a month on reserve. Why kill myself for 4-5 more hours?
Now, the Bus is probably gonna be different. It's REALLY different if you've got less than 100 hours since you're #1 for everything on reserve until you hit that point. By May, I'll have that 100 hours, so we'll see how it shakes out. Talking to the other guys in base it runs anywhere from once or twice a week to not flying for a couple of weeks.
