Jackarse Jumpseaters

But don't get us wrong young man, you're still grounded! :D

Congrats on having a good head on your shoulders. You've lived through your initiation. Not many go through an un-semi-official initiation ... and it's usually the young ones who do. But it's fun for the rest of us :D

I had a pretty extensive conversation with a cargo pilot tonight that jumpseats every week. He enlightened me about the process, so I wanted to come back and apologize before I made myself look like anymore of an ass. I guess I misunderstood why permission needed to be obtained. I thought it was more of a "yeah, I say it's okay for you to ride on my airplane" for the sake of the pilot and not the company/manifest/safety of passengers.

Just thought I would make this known since I was so eager to make my uneducated opinion known. :)

Fortaaay lashes for da looosah.

It's all cool :)

I was in the same situation as you were two weeks ago, it's all good. we are here to learn and some times the learning process is not all sweet and fun. There are some really experienced guys and girls here and I respect them all from the bottom of my heart but a debate sometimes makes it really fun to be a JC member.

Anyone can make a mistake. It takes a lot of guts to man up and say, yup, I screwed up.

I don't make mistakes. Well, actually that's not true. I once thought I had made a mistake, but I was mistaken. ;)

IOWA: no worries. It's all about learning. Goodness knows I still do it every day.

Besides, your state produced one of the better hard rock groups of today. That alone helps your case. :)

Really what did you do or say...:)

:sarcasm:

Granted...i'm only an FO, but I cant stand these old school mainline captains who are jumpseating on your "little CRJ" who think that they have some kind of authority on your flight. I had one American guy who came up in KPNS on a low visibility day and keep asking us "what is the RVR?"...."what does your OpSpecs say for here?"....."how about the Jepp charts?" Finally the captain said "Hey look....i've done this before, just go sit in the back....please!" This guy then had to throw in "well if there is anything you guys need me for just have the flight attendant come and get me". I'm not sure he could have sounded more condescending!!!! The cpt came very closed to asking him to leave!

Actually, I'm not from the god forsaken state, and would never claim to be. I'm only here because my wife is from this area and to keep my kids around family. I was born and raised in central Ohio, which I have been thinking about moving the family back to if the opportunity ever presents itself.
