Sig,
I wouldn't get down on yourself. You apparently made a series of several good decisions that made you end up with an airline job to begin with. Theres lots of pros and cons to each regional. My first choice was Colgan and it was the only place I applied after months of thought. I know I am going to work my butt off and probably get disgruntled at times, but it's better than flight instructing and I should get to the majors quicker. Sure, you could make $40 an hour as a second year FO at another regional a year+ from now, but wouldn't you rather make $40 an hour as a Captain in less time? I know some people preach lifestyle, but I say do what's best for your career and wallet. That extra 1-2 last years at the majors is buku retirement money $$
BTW, I'm based in ALB too, but I don't think I've met you, I'm one of the newbie Saab FOs.
