It's about time Bose...

So is it possible to upgrade the old Bose to the bluetooth capability?

Edit: Called Bose, thats a negative, the technology is different. So I guess I might sell both Bose X's to get the new ones. Decisions decisions.
 
These look like really nice headsets. I have really put some thought into whether or not I should get some of them. At this point in my career (170 hours) I could get a ton of use out of them before I moved into something I didn't need them. I am sure I am going to have to instruct and fly in some twins that I could definitely use this things to their full potential in. The Bluetooth features are also very appealing.

I think I am going to have to add this to my wish list.
 
Still too damn big in my book.

Would be nice if they made an aviation headset out of the Quiet Comfort package, or smaller to rival the highly popular Telex 850.
 
I was going to buy the Lightspeed Zulu's before I started my second aerial mapping season, but now I might have to go with the new bose !
 
I still use a $200 Avcomm headset. Gives me a headache after a hour or so but nothing a cheap bottle of Advil won't cure. I still just cant get my head around spending that kind of cash on a headset.

I traded my Bose X set in for the zulu, the clamping pressure of the bose gave me fits, and the ear seals never really sealed over my sunglasses. The Zulu took care of all problems, except now that we have 4 sets in the plane and pax are continually asking if they can make phone calls.

I've been using/demoing one of these units for a while now and they really don't even compare to anything else out there. They are, by far, the best headset I've ever used! I'll have to get my hands on one of these new Bose's though to get a side by side.

What's the customer service aspect like? I had an issue with one of the Zulu sets we use and Lightspeed was all over it. Traded me out of the set for a new one without question and within 2 business days.
Boss man is always interested in the latest and greatest, just have to have the service to back it up.

I've only dealt with their sales rep for the US and he seemed friendly and helpful. With any purchase I make, I hope that I'll never have to deal with anybody for repairs but it seems in general that headset manufactures are very solid.

On another note, did anybody else get a survey from a 'research marketing company' in the mail?
 
I can't see how they get away with charging anything like this. After researching the technology and seeing what the parts cost, these headsets are easily priced at well over 10x what it costs to make them.
