it's a boy!!!

awww he looks just like his daddy...but has his momma's eyes!

cute, CUTE kiddo guys!! :D

He's honestly such a good baby. He let's everyone hold him and he only cries when he has a poopy diaper. Recovering from a c-section is probably made so much easier by having such a nice, content baby. Oliver is completely taken with him too. It's amazing to see how comfortable and natural he looks in his role as dad. It's really amazing. I think I'm gonna really like this mommy gig. Oh and he does have a lot of crazy, cute dark hair. :) Gotta watch out for all the lil girl babies in the nursery with a good looking boy like that! :P

Pam and Oliver---Congrats again! Thanks for sending me the great picture of Evan and Oliver. I got it while overnighting in YUL and it made me smile when I saw it. I'm still amazed at all his hair! Glad to hear everything turned out well, even though Pam now has a "war" story! ;)

Soooo, when you gonna start working on #2? :D :panic:

i'm proud to announce that my wife Pam aka notcoolenufftofly gave birth to our baby boy Evan today at 2:53 pm cst in Metaire, LA. He's 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20" :-D

Big :D and hugs to all three of you. YAY!!!!!!

thanks guys..now if they would only let us go home thatld be great...i'm starting to get some bad vibes from the nursery

Haven't let you guys go yet?

I was a very impatient patient, and got released 40 hours after my c-sec....

I don't know. this is not going well. pam gets a fever, last time up to 102.6. nothing seems to be helping, our doctor is totally neglecting her and nurses don't have a darnest clue, they can't get a hold of the doctor, we've been in the hospital over 4 days, I don't know what to do....the nursery keeps bitching that we're not feeding the baby enough and she's breast feeding him plus pumping milk on the breast pump and me feeding him too on a bottle. I am seriously loosing my cool here, I can tell things are not normal but nobody seems to give a damn

OMG...we're really upset and frustrated. The baby is slightly jaundice which isn't rare or unheard of. Pretty typical actually. He feeds great and has passed all of his meconium and has dirty and wet diapers regularly. Both lactation nurses that have seen me have both been impressed with how well he latches and how much milk I have already. Seriously, there's not a short supply but the ped on duty or whatever wants him to get a lil treatment for the jaundice...fine...let's do some phototherapy lights or a billiblanket or something! Nope they wanna give him formula. Why? Makes ZERO sense cause he's eating enough AND he's dirtying his diapers several times a day with no problems. So I refuse to send him to the nursery anymore cause last time I got done feeding him, sent him down there and 30 mins later a nurse from the nursery comes and says, he's crying and hungry...NOW can we give him formula? I got so mad...I said if he's hungry, I NURSE and you're supposed to bring him to ME.So she got an attitude and brought him to me. He was sleeping soundly not a red face or tear on site. Formula is not the only treatment for being lightly jaundice, so why are they pushing so hard? It's making me soooo angry, cause like I said they sent lactation nurses in here and all of them had said we've got it and the nursing is going really really well. I don't get it, but it makes me worry that they won't treat the jaundice if I don't let them use formula. IDK what to do

...mama always said to get some doctors & nurses to to their job you gotta speak at the top of your lungs, and start talking malpractice.

It gets their attention real quick. Remember, you are the paying customer.

Also, is this a military hospital, county hospital, or what? The type of hospital might also seriously have something to do with it.

My aunt was a nurse for the state for 30+ years. And, she always said she wouldn't want to be caught dead at a county hospital!
