Is this the new reality?

Also Canada. I rolled into YYZ about 6 hours late once and everyone was super nice. "It's not your fault!"
Honestly, the part of public relations that I hate the most is apologizing for the decisions of those managing the situation (that, in many cases, created the situation).

I can't imagine (well, I don't have to, that is) what bull-crap the flight attendants are putting up with, nowadays.

Not being given the tools to do the job correctly is the most frustrating part of working at the regional level.

I hated only being able to commiserate with passengers instead of actually solve a problem.

My folks were from about 60 miles west of BUF...about as close to Pennsylvania as you can get and not be in Pennsylvania.

Nice place. Cold as all get out even in the summer. As unlike NYC as you could possibly get.

Agreed on the latter, but try the winter! Lake-effect snows from Lake Erie must have drained that pond over and over.

But 60 miles west of BUF is Canada. 60 miles south-west is Chautauqua County (aka: 'Almost Pennsylvania'), where the US' s most-misspelled defunct regional airline originated.

You are correct sir. Home of Welch's Grape Juice at one time, and location of at least a dozen, genuine "Oh...WTF?" moments of my life.

At the tender age of 10, I was attempting discourse with a distant relative (VERY distant) and I had what could best be described as a very early version of this reaction:

Upstate NY'ers too, which is hilarious.

Rolled into BUF at the same time as another flight got in, the ground crew decided to deplane and start offloading bags instead of parking us. 25 minutes of sitting there completely dumbfounded as we're burning gas waiting, we final get to the gate and they're having problems operating it.

I give my best apologetic speech about the snafu that the operation is and people were apologizing to ***us*** about the situation.

That was odd. If it were any other place, I'd have a facefull of camera phone and people declaring that we're holding them hostage.

HMU, bruh

I have no idea what "HMU" is.

Hit Me Up. Sorry, was speaking Millennial for a minute.

Translation: I live in BUF...in your domestic travels if you ever find yourself in the City of Good Neighbors and want to meet up for a Zima, let me know.

Canadians used to vacation in Panama City all the time. One time I had stopped at a gas station to buy some ice before the beach.

Canadian: excuse me sir, can you tell me how to get to Tom's gay rage?
Me: say again?
Canadian: Tom's gay rage, im trying to find Tom's gay rage.
Me: uhhhhhhhh......
Canadian: my transmission is giving me trouble and I'm going to drop my van off there
Me: ooooooohhhhhhh GARAGE. No I don't know where that is I'm sorry.

Man, I can't believe there's someone on here telling PC stories ... and it's not me.

That's what the penalty box on an airport is for; it's the place where airlines taxi their jets to in order to hold pax hostage, right? :)

Mullet boy needed a $5 footlong beat down. Too bad he didn't get one.

We can hold them 5 feet from the jetbridge for 2 hrs......
