I was mostly referring to this thread and the turn it has taken. There are those of us here who would love to organize but we are in the minority.

1)Most of us posting on this thread weren't even at SKW when that happened. Those that have posted on this thread that were around (that I know) voted for ALPA.

2)When I was hired in early 2011, the ALPA regionals were totally not an option for me. They either sucked or had bases that I had ZERO interest in. It was either work at SKW or stay out of the regionals at the time I made my decision. It was a very different hiring environment back then.

3)I interviewed (and was extended an employment offer) from Colgan around 2010. This was post 3407, and I was NOT impressed. Very disorganized interview, and the CP I met with just seemed off somehow. Just because it's ALPA doesn't mean it's awesome.

4)I've stood with striking pilots before and believe in unions. I look forward to having union protection if/when that day comes. But to be angry at people like me just because of where I work simply because we don't have a union is absurd. To appease people like Seggy, I'm wondering if they expect me to quit as a captain living in base and start over at Compass or something?

5)If you think being a jerk to people like me is acceptable, get a freaking life. There are more important things out there in life, and I strongly recommend getting some perspective before you stroke out and lose your medical.

Not really sure where you got I was being a jerk to people like you. I don't know you, don't really care about your individual situation and sure as hell have a pretty good life going on with plenty of perspective. All I said was that the anti union culture at skywest is stron enough that it doesn't make sense for ALPA to spend money on another organization drive there unless there is a demonstrated cultural change.

But you can read into that whatever you want to.
 
I don't have anything against people who chose to work for SKW, even though it is non-Union. Go-Jet, which is "union"? Not so much.

I've always wondered why national doesn't step in to help. If ALPA would help in a CRM at SKW why wouldn't they help GoJet?

Understand that years ago but the impression in this thread was that ALPA might be interested in helping SKW on the CRM. If that was true why wouldn't they help GoJet, as they are at least represented. Guess I misunderstood that.
