Iranian fighter planes (huh?)

What's interesting is why those flights would even go through a military installation anyway, when a civilian plane on the ramp would invite obvious scrutiny. Why they didn't keep those flights restricted to places like Mena, Ark and Pinal Airpark, AZ, makes little sense.
 

Thanks for that link. I read the whole thing and was thinking about how much I would have liked to have had access to analysis like that when we were puzzling over how to teach these guys. No internet then.



Here are a couple of relevant Breaking News stories out of Iran.

Tehran: An Iranian US-manufactured F-14 fighter jet crashed early on Thursday minutes after takeoff, killing both crew, the Iranian Fars news agency reported.

Sanctions against Iran's controversial nuclear programme have taken a heavy toll on Iran's ability to maintain the fleet. Iran has suffered a string of serious air accidents over the past decade that have cost more than 900 lives.
