Interesting landing yesterday

I agree with the postings regarding my little 'live and learn" experience that I should never have accepted the plane once I felt the brakes were soft...good advice. As a new pilot, I am still liable to obey ATC when in a situation, but I also realize that I am PIC....again another good learning experience for me.

BTW, I did not see anything leaking on the right main strut or anywhere near it.

To be fair, I will email the owner today about the brake and see what kind of response I get before I totally write them off as a place to rent from in the future.

I think the real question is, "should the FBO allow YOU to rent it?" :laff:

Haha...seriously though, I do have a grand total of 75 hours in a plane...including instruction. So, I do need to get up and fly to achieve more comfort with renting/flying. Over time, I am sure I will become more wise about thses type of situations. But, there's only one way to gain wisdom and judgement: by experience. And only one way to gain experience: by making mistakes....lucky for me, this time had no serious consequences.

UPDATE: The FBO communicated back with me and said that they sent the plane in for its 100 hour and got everything fixed...so they did right by my estimation. Now, if they would just not charge $130/hour for the PA-161. Perhaps a wee bit less would be reasonable; but that's just me.
