Interesting call from ATP

mshunter,
Now dont get your dander up, hunter, it was a joke. I am one of the few people on the forums that actually enjoyed my time at ATP, learned a lot, loved instructing at ATP and what it has done for my career. It is a quality school with quality people running it. I pointed out something I find funny. ...and I still find it funny.

Oh, and I am also one of the few people that loves the MX department there too- and I am positive that it is because I know what they do.

Oh, and it will be a cold day in Hell when I 1.) Publicly bad mouth a company that pays my salary and 2.) Watch what I say for fear of who might be listening to make me pay in the future. I dont buy this "small community so never speak your mind" BS.

Be careful with your #2, it is a very small community. And I know a couple higher ups at ATP are on these forums and they do post (anonymously). I have walked into some offices and have seen their screen names up on the computer. And they do watch what people say.

And by the way, I will agree. I went there, worked there, think the MX was above par also. I didn't care for the MX attitude though.

I don't know, I think there are a lot of people on this forum who enjoyed their time there and learned a lot. Flight schools have their positives and negatives.

Nice to be in a position to not need one of these places, to where this would be a concern if I did have a criticism about specific ops....:D

@ your number 2. I think the "higher ups" have recently lost significant credibility. Not sure some people will take them quite as seriously anymore. Still doesnt hurt to watch what you say. Like MikeD said, if there is a real true issue, there is a respectful way to go about making that complaint.

I got a call from Susan too, it was good to talk to her for a few minutes and I'm glad Dave is making the offer. To anyone that can take advantage of it, do it! I fly instruct full time and still jump in the FRASCA regularly to keep my scan proficient.

See....A positive post!!

You know, I am another who enjoyed training at ATP!! I think it is human nature to bitch about something we are not familiar with. After leaving ATP and the amount of flying we were getting there we go through a little bit of withdrawal. So some of us analyze the situation and the "limitations" and decide that we can operate with them. That is where I think that I personally am at. I got another instruction gig but it is taking time to get going. I would love to have a regular paycheck and a shot at instructing in the nole!
