So I've thought about applying at WMU for a instructing position. I've heard some bad things from my friend, and was wondering if this is true. I know some of you work there so please chime in.
I've heard instructors are not treated all that well so employee moral is low. She complained about "below poverty" level income and almost was on food stamps. She didn't like how the school was closed for one or two weeks during Christmas break, so therefore no income, except for a small stipend. I hear about a 6 month contract as well.
Yet I've heard good things. Getting new SR-22's in the fleet. This is good because I have about 20 hours of Cirrus time. WMU is...well....a college.... and therefore in a college town, with a young crowd.
So my friend, told me not to come, but I'm taking that with a grain of salt. Also what are the hours like and can I build multi-time right as i start? I just want someone elses perspective.
