Did I miss something here. It seems to be the general consensus that US student enrollment is at a low, if not an all time low. Most of the foreign students are under contract and will be going home to fly for their carriers. Now if my reasoning is correct, with little training of US fliers going on, that will lend itself to the shortage that has been knocking at our door for a couple of years. If not now, certainly in 5 years when we loose this first batch of 5 year reprieve guys. Am I wrong? And really, when I started flying in the mid 80's, the opportunities were know where near as abound as they are today, even in this "hiring slump"
