Apparently it’s the airlines fault people grab carryons when executing a ground evac. A new briefing to the public is what’s needed.

We’ve had this discussion before. ZERO people are listening to that brief. I don’t care what’s in it. Lock the over head bins from brake release until cruise and then vice versa. It’s the only way to be sure.

I LOVE the locking bins idea.

How about cattle prods for folks that stand up before the chocks are in?

Please no. I am just standing to try and get some blood flow back into my legs since my knees have been jammed up into the seat in front of me for the last several hours because airlines don’t believe anyone is taller than 5’5

Locking overhead bins is another solution. Given the size of some of these bags, people were clearly going into the bins.
Yep I've advocated that for years, Locking overhead bins controlled by the FA's. Locked during taxi T/O and landing phase just like the Seat belt sign. Oh wait, better yet... the overhead bins locks automatically when the seat belt sign is illuminated.
