Have no idea how they are profitable.
I'm not sure what the hourly operating cost is on a cirrus, but if you run a "special" at 600 an hour, it seems like you should be able to make a profit. They might charge enough to make up for low volume, IDK. We charge 395 I think, for a 210, but it goes up to like 600 something for a 185 straight float, and almost 1000 for the beaver. Yeah, there are places in AK that have beavers for around 600, but they fly a lot more with a lot of competition. Our 210 check contracts went away almost a year ago, and I think we haven't missed them a bit. Once it was all said and done, we prolly didn't make enough money to justify having them.
