Do not go to west hall if you can help it. Mcvey is where most aviation students go, but I here that brannon(which is co-ed) is the best in the wilkerson complex. I dont know much about the rest other than swansen is probably the best on campus but is mostly graduate students. With that though, I moved out of the dorms after only a year and a half. On campus and off campus have their positives and negatives. For the most part though, off campus is better.

Welcome to UND. You'll like it a lot, especially if you get with a good group of friends. Dont let yourself get bored if you can help it. It makes the school year just drag.

As I recall UND is one of the few U's I've ever seen that doesn't require freshmen to live on campus, apartments are cheap, why not.
Don't live in legacy, it's overpriced. Plenty of 300/month ish places down around the wash/32nd area.
In fact, houses are cheap too, hell if I had been smart and had the financial backing of the rents I would have looked at buying a cheap house and selling it 4 years later.
 
I live in the university apartments, and I would highly recommend it! I have one roommate and we pay about $380/month for the both of us, so we each pay around $190/month, that also includes all utilities such as heat and cable TV. We also have high-speed internet through the University which runs us about $20/month. Plus, it's on campus and the shuttle bus stops right in front of the building, which is a big plus, at least for me:D
 
It says on their site about University Apartments. For single you must be 23 or older, and for family you have to be married. What University Apartments are you referring to?
 
You might want to live in the dorms the first year for the "social" experience. Drinking is big down here, prolly its the only thing plus country music. If thats your style, you would find life very fun.:insane:
 
Lol, its not techno bitch! Just joking, we have a lot of electronic music lovers down here, myself included. I am mainly into house, trance, real "techno", and ambient. Ferry Corsten, Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, etc.

I live there and it's overpriced because of elasticity of demand... goddamn basers! j/k, i'm so mean.

I say that you should live on campus mainly for the social reason listed by another poster. I lived for two years in west hall and I liked it. I met some really good buddies there which are now my roomates off campus. Living on campus is good because its close to your classes. If you dont have a car, you can take the aviation shuttle out to the airport.

One thing that I want to mention is that your college life is what you make of it. Get involved when you get to UND. Meet people and do new activities. There are a lot of people here and a lot of student organizations that you can get involved in. As far as weekend events, again they are what you make of them. Hockey is always fun to go to (unless the Sioux are loosing), there are parties and other things. Your life here will be what you make of it. Have fun.

I lived there for a year, first year in town and it's not worth it. Then I lived in an OLD house down off 7th and chestnut for a year (500 bucks all utilities included!) then I lucked out and got a really big 2 bedroom in the getto for 450 a month and lived there for 2 years, nice apartment, huge... cheap.
