If you could have any Aircraft

As for a personal jet, can't think of too many better options out there in terms of former mil aircraft. Dual side by side controls, nice high bypass turbofans, plenty of room in the cockpit, and more than enough storage space for some weekend bags or golf clubs.

If i was one of those uber rich guys (Trump like) I'd get a C-17. Fix up the interior to be a pretty sizeable luxury jet. Lots of room, good short field performance, and you can bring your car!

When you have that much money you don't need to bring your car...just buy one when you get there!

I'm not positive, but I think we made it to page 7 with no one saying SR-71. Put me down for that one. Kelly Johnson was the man.

Good call! can't beat the times coast to coast. although might have a little trouble flying over china....

The Concorde would be a cool runner up for this category.

The poll limited the amount of aircraft I could list and those were ones that I dream about off hand at the time. But good on ya realms for reading 7 pages and dropin the blackbird.

Fav. aircraft is the DC-10. Would love to get one for cheap out of GYR, IGM, or ROW. Wonder what one with 3 working powerplants is going for? Dont care if its in the passenger config or not..........:)

Does it come fully armed?

Fully de-mil'd and with western nav avionics, but it's the real deal in every other way. IIRC they were asking something absurdly low like 5 mil.....probably doesn't include the mx contract they would likely be providing.

I've always been a fan of the Aviat Husky. But, after seeing one, I really want to build a Glasair Sportsman. Maybe I should get both. One on wheels, and one on floats.

My choices would be the AH-1W Super Cobra for the short jaunts between home and work and the 727 for road trips. Loud engines+ steam guages=fun.
