idle landing

My friend was landing at CDG two weeks ago and he could hear on channel 9 the captain keep telling ATC he was going to be doing an "idle landing".....jet guys...any idea what that means?
 
Well I can give you my opinion of what can that be... mmmmm. I think is landing a jet airplane with the engines off, something really hard to do given the weight of a jet plane.

So my 2 cents, Don't totally believe what i said, given though I'm not a pilot, but yes, I think is what I just said:yeahthat:

B-b-b-b-b-b-b-but on flight sim....!

I'm fairly certain (with my 4 hours of turbine time!1111) that it's not "landing with the engines off" as typically we'd call that... an engine failure (or deadstick landing, whatever), on top of that, it's very unlikely that a jet would lose both engines, especially without declaring an emergency...

Unless of course you fly for Pinnacle and just took your deadhead RJ to 41,000 feet for the fun of it. Sorry, I couldn't help it!

Wow, dude. I'll put it in Spanish for ya, since it seems that English is your second language (and maricon, wow, haven't heard that in a long time!)

Now we've moved onto personal attacks after I mearly pointed out that you clearly cannot construct a sentance using english that makes any sense at all....and several other members don't have a clue what you're saying either. We're just pointing out the obvious.
