"Ice Pilots" New Reality TV Show

Even better than the first one! I would spend 10 days in -30 changing an engine on a C-46 rather than fly an electra (though that would be cool too)

I could not get the old Proxy to work, but MooneyGuy's fit the bill. There was only one lip stain commercial this time too!

Pretty cool episode once again, good mix of TV drama to keep regular folks interested, and enough flying stuff for the rest of us!

The Electra looks like a P-3 Orion... same plane?

Of course that's also -40C too, at one point they said -50C, I've experienced that once, and only once and it was unholy... usually never gets colder than -30C around here, and only for about 2-3 weeks.

I've done work outside on my car in town years back when it was -25C, I can't imagine on an open ramp at -40C wind wipping around... amazing these guys are just used to it...

Yes. The P-3 is a military variant of the Lockheed L-188 Electra (but not the L-10 Electra).

...It's a dry cold. :)

I'm not sure if you said it earlier in the thread, but do you work with these guys?

No I'm on the east coast, I work high level enroute transitioning guys from the ocean into Bostons airspace.

These guys would all be under Edmonton Centre all non-radar far as I know

alright I watched episode 1 on the history.ca site last week, now it says I need flash 8.0 or later this week. just for craps and giggles, I downloaded flash 10, restarted the computer yada yada, and still no dice. What be up? I'm confused.

Same thing happens to me once in a while, just restart again and see what happens.

This is one of the coolest shows I've ever seen.

When the mechanic says "If it doesn't start I'm gonna lose it." I was like "Yeah man... that!" ;)

Proxy worked fine for me. :)

I watched the first episode last night. Loved it. I'm going to watch the second sometime today when I get a chance...

I never could get the 132 proxy to work, but I did get 174.142.24.201 port 3128 to work. FINALLY! that was a major pain. I did have to refresh a lot to finally get the download adobe 8 to go away. I have adobe 10 not sure why it wouldn't recognize it.

So after all that, it was a pretty good show. How about that one engine approach to 300' overcast. Seems he was high and left. That was a localizer app wasn't it?

So how long before they all are wearing either bose, zulu, or DC X-11's? I'm sure one of those companys will send some headsets free of charge...
So I watched episode 1 using the 132 proxy with no problem but this week no dice. I then put the 174 proxy in and it worked. It looks like the original proxy we had was shut down or blocked. I hope this doesn't turn into a musical proxy game each week.

I still have not been able to get to the video in the evening. I keep getting to install adobe 8 screen. But morning or midday I can get it...go figure.

Pretty cool series and airplanes, you'd never catch me even considering working/living in conditions like that however... miserable!

From what I can tell, these are "open" proxies; the whole world uses them when they want to watch Canadian video, so speed is slow during heavy traffic times. Weekday mornings are probably your best bet.
