I stand corrected, what's it like to fly the ERJ-140/145?

The nose is really heavy, so be prepared on your first landing and give it a good pull back as it starts to come down.

I had about 3k in type. I liked it. 1.5 hour jet max though, sucks on 2.5 legs.

[Evangelical, born-again rambling. Pencil-sharpening cliché for next RFP]

God Bless.

It's a beginner jet and it shows. Very forgiving, systems are simple. The nose will come down hard on landing if you don't feather it down - you'll only forget twice or three times. Go in with an open mind and fly it the way they want you to (right or wrong). They're writing the check.

It out climbs the CRJ-200, but that isn't saying much. We climb slow, at Mach .65, but that'll get you 1,000 FPM almost all the time up to your cruise altitude. They're FADEC, so you don't have to think too much about starting them or blowing them up. I'd say the aircraft is adequately powered.
Jesus no wonder I get scared when I Jumpseat on you guys, it's good to know the plane is meant to climb that slow. Your right the CRJ climbs like a pig we do 500 fpm up at altitude.

I don't have a lot of experience in the EMB-145, but the 145 is easy to fly. I mean that in the sense of stick and rudder skills. I came from an all CFI background, and the fact that Embraer puts the schematics on the overhead panel for every system is pretty neat, not that anyone should really need it, but remember the 145 is meant to be a turboprop to turbofan transitional jet. The systems, as new to me as they were, are pretty easy. I walked into groundschool in January, not even knowing how a pack worked, or what it was. I walked out of my ATP PIC oral with a satisfactory check in the box. Just remember... FLC works great in the sim, and terrible on the line lol.

EDIT: As i'm sure, Bunk, you've realized this plane has a lot of redundancy built into it. Some is nice to have, other stuff it's just kind of silly, but oh well...

Well, change 3 of 4 or something like that, I got a call, I'm now in a class for the E170 :ooh: Maybe the Q400 next week :)

Lol, again, welcome to the circus. Glad you have a sense of humor; you're going to need it! At least you now have the low-down on all 3 aircraft by now.
