Jtrain, listen to 777. He went to ATP, flies a "$30M turboprop" for "Southernjets Connection" (WTF?), and appears to be some sort of airline economist.
Actually I'm just a sunday morning quarterback

Actually I'm just a sunday morning quarterbackAnyways, I wish you XJT guys the best but honestly, IMO, self-branded 50 seat RJ + High fuel prices= -$$$$$$

Stagnate is exactly what's going to happen.
Would you be singing the same tune if ExpressJet called first instead of ASA?
From Expressjet, I wouldn't bail. I personally think that SKW's future is maybe a little less uncertain than Xjet's due to the fact that we're not trying something completely different with 15% of our fleet, but there's a very real chance that our growth will slow down...and that could mean you'd be stuck in MKE for a while. That wouldn't make the switch worth it.
If you were at almost any other airline, I'd say bail for the superior work rules and better pay, but your pay isn't going to get better by coming to SKW from Xjet.
And an ATR *does not* cost $30 million, nor does it fly like a 172. It flies like a dump truck with wings.

I simply stated my opinion and apparently Merit has taken it personally.

You state your opinion as fact. You rub everyone the wrong way and your history of posts prove it here. You're a brand new 121 pilot, I suggest you act like it.
I've been thinking of quitting XJT and moving over with SKYW. It will suck going through training again and starting at the bottom of the list at another carrier, but I think it might be a choice.
.....
Anyway, this EWR base is killing my life. I'm sure a lot of people will say to just stick it out and what not, but its really not for me.
What do you guys think?

And you've been in the airline industry how long?
the big problem though, is that xjet has stopped hiring, so there's no seniority to gain, no better schedules to shoot for...
