I like beers with my crews, but I also like going out. Am I gonna end up as a slamclicker orrrrr

Lets use Reno as an example.

Hamburger stand literally on the corner: $15
Hamburger stand, 25 minute walk across the freeway, $18 but offers 15% crew discount: TAKE ALL MY MONNNAY!

Well it might be under the freeway and all the way in Sparks, but that other hamburger stand is an IN AND OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGAHHHHHHHHHDDDDD

Nice brew pub in Sparks. Great Basin Brewing. I would walk there from the Grand Sierra, which was our crew hotel at one time. A bit sketch on the walk if it was dark but wtf, I'd do in now as an old man.

There is at least one other good brewery near the GSR nowadays, which was a surprise to me since living there. I'm trying to visualize the walk from there to Great Basin.....isnt that off Virginia Ave by the mall/Whole Foods/etc? I did like their Ichiasaurus IPA

Revision was about halfway between GSR and Great Basin, had decent beers the one time i was in there but more of a brewery with picnic tables
Great Basin had some pretty good food but would be an exciting walk from the GSR at certain hours of the night. Liked their alpine lager, forget the name

Yep, revision is what I was thinking of!

Revision wasn't there back then. I went Glendale/Rock/Victorian from the Grand Sierra. It was for sure sketch in the railroad underpass. Avoided walking it at night. Walking downtown along the river trail was probably worse. Don't think I ever did that one at night. I really liked the GSR and looked forward to Reno layovers. A lot of guys didn't like the casino aspect or location and we moved to a hotel more towards downtown.

was the pylon bar still in the GSR in those days?

Had to google that one. Don't remember it. Says it was gone in 08. I'm pretty sure I hadn't discovered my like for Reno layovers that early on.
