How long were you at the regionals and where did you go from there?

Do not make your decisions based on this.

The four year upgrade we have, for instance, is true for the guys who were hired four years ago. When the music stops (it takes a [serious] Ebola outbreak or something like that), you had better be comfortable where you are.
That is my fear. The music will stop. I hope I am not left without a chair!

Funny thing was when I totalled by logbook after I left my regional, I had 1001 hours tpic. There were people in my newhire class who had a lot more, and some who had none. From talking to everyone, networking seemed to be the common theme. Flight experience varied greatly in my class.
Damn you got me beat. I left pinnacolaba with 1007 hours tpic.

5 years almost exactly from cjc to airways, half of that as a captain in the saab and rj.

What do you think Delta saw if you don't mind sharing in an open forum. PM is always appreciated too.

To be honest, 2000/2001 was a different hiring time. I would probably be a solid tier 2 candidate today. I had 4000 hours, 2000 PIC, 4 year degree in 4 years, (2.0 GPA BS Biology from The Citadel,) but aviation was a third career. Prior military (grunt) and several years in the financial field before aviation. No LORs but I had flown with a bunch of captains as an FO whose father's were Delta. They had a nepotism policy back then. I had all their names in my logbook and the Captian in the interview knew them all. I think they were scrapping the bottom of the barrel at that time.

Or, (and I may out myself here,) it could have been the dead body story. I just found out that it is apparently still talked about over on the fourth floor. I do know it stopped the interview cold and when I finished telling them the story, they never resumed the interview. I guess it was the ultimate TMAAT!

And before anyone asks, no, it is better told over cold ones and it will cost you several to hear it!

Did you know that TH (TK now) from our new hire class is working there too? I ran into her in LGA today and it took me a second to notice that her bling was different.

First name Tara?

Her mother-in-law is my real estate agent (Sorry @ATN_Pilot).

She's a good one. Was a good CFI to work with while over at Falcon.

Like they always say, it is better to be lucky than be good at times. Thanks for sharing.
