I'm a fourth generation pilot so flying is kinda the family business. My great-uncle started out as a barn-stormer in the late 20's or early 30's in north Georgia/Chattanooga area. In fact, he has an intersection named after him off of the Choo Choo VOR (low enroute map). It is called the OHCEE intersection as he went by his first two initials - O.C.
Anywho, when I turned sixteen and started driving (actually I started driving at forteen, but then again we lived in the middle of nowhere) Dad said it was time to start taking formal flying lessons as he was not a CFI. So, soloed sometime in 1992 and flew through the rest of high school.
Now, I am just going to list the rest with very brief explanations if needed.
1994 - graduated HS
1994 - 1999 - Auburn University, Finance
Summer 1997 - ATP for everything past PPL to CFIs
1997 - 1999 - instructed at LGC and MXF
Summer 1999 - hired by Piedmont-Hawthorne Aviation to fly Kingairs. Finished Kingair check out then promptly sent to the airline division, Pace Airlines to fly 737-200s. Furloughed that fall.
Fall 1999 through Spring 2000 - back to instructing at FFC and CCO
April 2000 - hired by Continental Express on the E145 (soon to become ExpressJet). Upgraded in 2004. IAH FO Rep 2002 - 2004. Numerous other Union positions as well.
October 2006 - hired by AirTran on the 717.
September 2007 - hired by Delta on the 767ER.
