How are things?

If you're in multi stanz you also have to do instrument stanz. VFR sim/flight followed shortly after by an ifr sim/flight.

You bet. Keep in mind that when you get to FSA, the frascas are free for you. Practice. Practice. Practice.

Congrats and good luck on Monday. Will you go right into instrument from that point, or hit the flight line with students?

Ya, Monday is the instrument flight. I already finished the VFR portion 2 weeks ago. This last part is taking a little longer. But if everything goes alright then out to the flight line after Monday ...

I have a place in Vero Beach now. Supposedly 10 minutes from the airport so that's good. I was going for as cost effective as possible so no apartment, no lease, 400 a month for everything + furnished. Housing was the major factor for me, and with it taken care of, it looks like it's on now.

OHPilot213 let us know how today went.

nice, i live north of the airport. north side of 49th in the waterway village :) so maybe we will meet soon at the flight line ;)

I have no real clue about how big/small the operation is, but I'd think we'd meet up sooner than later. I'll be the one with the "deer in the headlights" look lol. I'm surprised how easy it was to find a nice and affordable place to stay. I'll be 3 miles to the south of VRB off of 8th.

I'll find all of this out soon enough, but what is it like around the airport? Mad-house 24/7? I'm up for whatever, just curious.

The area surrounding the airport is relatively quiet. The airport itself can be a madhouse with air traffic. Expect regular delays and being held outside the D airspace for 5to 15 mins or longer. If you start your night flights this summer right when the tower closes, you will find yourself number 15 in line for departure with 5 or 6 airplanes in the pattern. You have to be creative with your planning, but it is quite manageable and most of the time the delays won't hold you up too much. Just keep your head on a swivel when flying near Vero. I've had numerous close calls, even on IFR flight plans.

Vero Beach is a old people town. So dont expect huge party. I mean asap as you know people you can do a lot of thinks. We are always going out on boat, there is a big cove where lot of young people with boats are hanging out, drinking beer and nice girls. There are 2 major bars, Riverside and Joey´s but closing at 1am.

You will meet tons of piper people, ( like my girlfriend, avionics engineer )

The airport itself ist pretty busy, when you see all the airplanes on the ramp you can imagine how it is sometimes.

Wintertime is the worst, all the old people are coming with their private jets, so they have priority.

I never had big delays , last night xcountry there were 4 people waiting in front of me. The are around vero beach is super busy. The most dangerous people are those traveling South Nort , North South over the shorline because usually you turn over the river so you get into that traffic. Of course there are many trainings areas around with people doing stalls etc.

A few miles north there is Sebastian, always used for touch an go´s . And you have skydivers there ;)

Took an extra day than expected; however today I finished multi VFR and IFR standardization. Hopefully students to come later this week ... we will see.

Sounds like things are pretty normal. I'm looking forward to coming back and instructing again, has KAU been crazy with the multi students?

It went well! The test was good. It'd been a while, so it was good to be a little stressed out about something again. It's amazing how all that knowledge gets burned into your brain though.

We met a lot of people in admin and got a tour of the place. It's definitely more extensive than I'm used to, but great nonetheless. Lots of people, airplanes, and action going on. I dig it.
