Sounds good, thanks for the reply. The website shows current openings for full-time instructors. It sounds like part-timers probably aren't doing too bad at making a living if you're that busy. I sent a resume earlier this month and followed up with a call. I'm going to call back this coming week like the nice lady told me to.
I've lived in some very austere conditions before (military). With that said, how possible is it to "rough it" around VRB for a while on the cheap? Are you guys and gals finding good options for housing?
I am a homeowner so room and board is my biggest consideration, and I'm not too hard to please as far as having a place to sleep goes.

Wow! They must be hurting if they're putting you straight into multi stans. What are the conditions?
Day one will be a written requiring a pass to continue. Starting out part-time with an opportunity to go full-time it sounds like. Numerous Frasca and PA-44 flights during the standardization process. Contract positions available as well offering higher pay, but with higher minimums to instruct. I exceed the minimums in the email for the contract work so I'll be interested in hearing about that. I think there was info about them in previous threads. Oh yeah, no rooms available on campus.

Study your CFI/FOI Gleims. The questions will come straight from there. I recommend getting into Swiss. It's a very good way to get your ATP cross country minimums. They will be utilizing the Seminoles more now as well. Overall, it's the best program there. RWL isn't bad either. Don't worry about housing. There are plenty of places to live. A good starting point is Walker Woods. You can do a short term lease there until you find something else or you may choose to stay there permanently. It's not a bad place to live. I lived there for 2 years. In my opinion, Vero is a nice place to live. I miss it. Then again, I'm not a night owl. If you like to party a lot, you may be disappointed.
Hey guys, I have a question for anyone who might be able to shed some insight. Tomorrow will be 14 days out from the beginning of stanz. As you guys know it'll be Saturday tomorrow (riveting, I know). I received the initial email a few days ago and I haven't heard anything since. I have called a couple of times, but the person hasn't been available so I left a voice mail. I really don't want to be a pest and call again.
The issue is that I have a great full-time gig with good people, and I don't want to burn that bridge or leave people hanging by giving short notice. I leave tomorrow on trips and won't be back until Tuesday for the most part. I was hoping to get some more info today from FSA, but it looks like that's not going to happen.

A lot is an understatement! You're in multi stanz, and my understanding is there's around a dozen or so MEIs at FSA. They're hurting...bad! I know a guy that is still "part time" but was just approved for 10 hours of overtime, read: 50 hr work week. He's only teaching in the seminole. Oh yea, he also has 9 multi students right now.

i never counted them but we got over 100 airplanes there, arrows, cadets and seminoles ( i think 20 )

I can make it happen, but how bad would it suck to quit and show up to stanz only to find out that I was the 13th email response for only 12 spots. I'm coming off as high-maintenance already lol. I'm really not, just looking for some confirmation.

What I'm being told is there's quite a few new hire classes coming up. The one that started on April 11(?) is going to finish soon. They're in DIRE need of MEI's. I guess MEI's are overwhelmed with students. Both contract and non contract students.
Finished last Tuesday for the ground school portion, took the final test. Most single engine guys are done; however no multi's are done yet. I could have been done Friday; however due to circumstances I chose to delay until Monday. As long as everything goes OK on Monday I should be done with Multi Stands, 2 others should hopefully be done by this coming Friday.
Congrats and good luck on Monday. Will you go right into instrument from that point, or hit the flight line with students?
