I'm glad someone got pictures of the Houston snowstorm! They look very nice by the way.

Dad is in IAH for a long layover today (got in a 8 am today, leaves at 9 am tomorrow). He gets the snow storm, and i get to go take the dog for a walk in a t-shirt and shorts.

Tis life.

I'm still waiting on it to snow in Missouri. This cold weather is pointless without snow. Although I won't complain that it was 67 here last sunday!

Its funny to watch the people here from Houston that obviously have never lived anywhere north of here, going CRAZY like the apocalypse is coming when the flurries started!! People stocking up at the grocery store today when i was buying stuff for chilli.. And the gas lines were long...

Awesome!

I was watching CNN this morning, and the weather people were freaking out about 4-5 inches.

You should have seen the panic in Vegas last winter when we got 8 inches of snow. People literally stopped their cars and started walking.

My daughter called this morning to tell me about the snow. She was saying it snowed really hard. San Antonio is just as bad, snow shuts the whole city down. We had ice a couple years ago, they shut down IH-10 for a couple days, they just dont have the ability to remove it.

Cool pics! The last time I remember snow in H-town was x-mas eve 2004. It wasn't much in Houston, but I think Victoria got something like 8in. I was driving on the 10 when it started dusting and thought "Wow! This is weird! Am I in some parallel universe?"

Global warming?

It snowed once last year as well. Didn't get any accumulatin' here in The Woodlands but there were some flurries.

It snowed last year...dec 10 to be exact. Ill never forget it. Taking an airplane in huntsvill and the inbound crew tells us of snow. I didnt believe it. When we broke out at 1000 agl on 26R in IAH everything was white. Blew me away. Then took us over 4 hours to get to the gate. It destroyed the IAH ops that night. 6 hours huntsville to houston block time. I heard much worse times too. Most of that was sitting by the east cargo facility with the engines shut down handing out free booze to the pax.

You have to realize we aren't set up for that down here.
Good to see some, read most, people were still driving like idiots though.

Grandparents sent me lots of pics of their drive from San Antonio to Vic that year. I missed it by a day or so. :(

Hrm, that reminds me...sometime after the holiday craziness settles down we should do another Houston M&G.
Def down for that!

To the OP. Nice pics. Seemed it depended on where you were as to waht level of snow it was. At hobby it was snowing pretty good, literally 5 miles south on I 45 it was only sleet and nothing even stuck to the ground.

My wife had a Company Christmas party scheduled for Friday evening. Once it started snowing a little bit, they cancelled. They had reserved a spot at an Italian restaurant downtown as well as hotel rooms for all the employees. But, because of a little snow they thought it would be unsafe. Silly Houstonians.

By 6 pm it had passed, roads were nice, and traffic was normal.

houston just has no idea how to handle precipitation. It floods here during the slightest shower. And this snow was no big deal untill night time with the freeze, but it was find during the day. My boss left at 10am to get his kid outta school because i didn't think the school should have been open. Thank god I'm getting outta here.
