Are you referring to the minimum age of 23 years old?KBUF said:Just curious, I've looked around for it for it in the FAR's, but I can't find where it says this![]()

but the real question is -> can you get your PPL at 16 (requirement right? 16 minimum?)... and actually gain your full hiring hours by the age of 18??Citationkid said:If they're not mature enough they won't get through the interview. Besides, any kid with 1000 hours (and 100 multi) is going to be mature other wise they would've killed themselves by then.
Alex.
16 to solo, and 17 to get the private pilot's license, and your commercial at 18 (man, those would be some hectic birthdays!)Kristie said:but the real question is -> can you get your PPL at 16 (requirement right? 16 minimum?)... and actually gain your full hiring hours by the age of 18??

He worked on flying while in highschool and then spent a few months after HS graduation building time and working. Then in September, started ATP with 100 hours plus, did his training and was a CFI/CFII/MEI by January, hired at ATP a few weeks after that, then hired by ExpressJet by June at a little over 500hrs TT.
Probably the most mature 18 year old on the planet, and just had a knack for flying.
Yes it is possible, but I have never met another 18 year old that was like him.
Timbuff10 said:Personally, I wouldn't give up my college years for anything. Wouldn't even trade it for a job flying 747s or the space shuttle. Online degrees and being a 30 year old freshman in college just ain't the same. Living in a dorm and getting the entire college experience is something you can't simulate online.

Ain't no way I'd trade my four years in college for forty flying a 744. Ha, worked the number four into there a lot, eh?![]()
