Hello all,
First time post, go easy. Thanks for all the advise so far. I've lurked here for a while, especially the Dispatch FAQ section. My question is regarding Horizon Air Dispatch positions. Based on what I've found so far, they employ slightly under 20, and the turnover is quite low.
The advise in the FAQ directed at dispatchers with a green certificate is basically move to where the job is or commute. End of story.
Having said that, what would be the prospect of a well presented "green" dispatcher getting on at Horizon? Throw in a 4 year science degree, a pilots license, and oh yeah, I'm 45. I currently do not have the certificate.
As a follow up, nearest commute from Portland, OR to another regional would be SFO, or PHX?
I realize I am breaking the cardinal rule of "follow the job", but wanted to get a general picture of Horizon's hiring picture.
Thanks again!
