FYI...
I spoke to my friend who is an engineer in North Carolina on this project at Piedmont Triad facility...
He said "Not much skinny to divulge. Clean sheet design of an aircraft engine is a bitch. We're ready to deliver on the structures side. Systems are solid too. We're pretty bummed."
So there you have it... the engine has been redesigned multiple times, as reported in the press, and is still undergoing certification.
