HondaJet Delayed Again

That thing is going to be already so late to the party, no one's going to buy it. It'd be like if the iphone 1 was released today.
 
They probably had not fulfilled their advertising contract yet. Yet another year of full page Honda jet mental masturbation ads.

This jet is a PR ploy. If it never actually makes it to market, it's still a win.
 
Why does it seem lime the FAA is against the new kid on the block? Certification for any new design has become so difficult, and so many hurdles have to be jumped, unless you have the backing of Mega billions, you just can't do it.

Another story of "Friends Against Aviation."
 
I've been watching this fly in GSO for 10 years, it's amazing the amount of testing that it required.

My mother works for a large pharmaceutical company, and it's not uncommon for a product to take 10-15 years from concept through testing, certification(FDA), and then finally, to manufacture.

It would seem that these certification delays are the norm when dealing with a highly regulated industry such as aviation or pharmaceutics.

And then grandma complains about the fact that she has to choose to eat or buy the pills that are countering her bad health choices so she can live 40-years past her usefulness - all while voting to cut funding for medical research and blaming her diabeetus on the Muslim in the White House. Amurica - yeah!

This is one of the dumbest things that I've heard on this board in a while... if I knew how to do multiple quotes I'd say that the next post about it being a 20 year old design is just as dumb.
Honda is doing it right, not rushing it out. Its not like the Sino Swearingin jet, it will be out, and they have orders for a bunch.
Stamp it.
 
Maybe during the delay they can move the engines to a more normal location so it doesn't look so ugly.
 
And FYI, the majority of the delays have been with the new engine being designed along with it.
My friend, an engineer on the certification of the plane, told me that the original ice ingestion test significantly damaged the engine and a lot of it had to be redesigned... they are putting a brand new engine on a brand new airframe.
