Hijacked Ethiopian Boeing 767 Airliner lands

In my day there were no home computers and no Flight Sim (which I still have never played). I was too busy being a ramp rat, washing airplanes, fueling them, sweeping and cleaning out hangars and offices, trying to help the mechanics and learn something, getting lunches, being a gofer, pulling weeds, painting, and whatever other odd jobs I could do at FBOs and bartering/begging/pestering for flight instructions and flight time, going along with owners when they flew, and sitting in various cockpits learning the instruments and imaging myself flying all over the world. The girls only went for the jocks anyways mostly. Sometimes when I would fly over our house, I would call home and make everybody come out and wave when I flew over. lol Best time of my life.

LOL! That cracked me up.

But hey, to the defense of the simmers, you can be a totally normal person. Story time! When I was living in San Jose, I had a pretty awesome nerd set up. Custom built PC hooked up to a 42" HD TV where I would play flightsim from a gaming chair with a joystick and throttle. Every now and then girls used to come by and do homework at my place while I nerded out flying online with VATSIM and drank 40s with them. Sometimes I'd get sexytime during "cruise" and come back to have overflown the destination with a "controller" freaking out sending me dozens of texts reading something like, "THIS IS MSP CENTER WTF OMGZ YER IN MY AIRSPACE CONTACT ME AT ONCE ON...".

I try to be a hero to the nerds, and hope they lead by my example and don't let aviation impact their social skills. But don't assume we're all basement dwellers. :)

Did the MSP Controllaz make you do a series of turns to prove that you were in control of your simulated airplane after you told them you had a, "cockpit distraction?"

I knew this had to be bogus from the beginning; I've been to both Addis AND Rome.

Trust me, NO ONE would hijack an airplane headed in that direction, the other way around, maybe.......:)

K, relax there, guy. I don't remember anyone actively disbelieving you. Plus, uh, you know, the first concern here isn't you and your Rightness on the Interwebz, yeah?
