Here's the New Airbus Monster!

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

Well, don't forget that FedEx and UPS are only talking "raises" for the next contract. Not a question of if the pay is going up, only by how much...

So the future of airline flying isn't going anywhere. How sad

Well, it could. It depends. I dunno!

As long as we can keep US pilots flying US routes, keep cabotage laws to protect intra-US flying, we might be ok. But the second that we allow Aeroflot to fly LAX to SEA, all bets are off.

As I told a fellow CFI to write on a sqawk sheet the other day:

"It's all f***ed up, yo."

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

I really hope I can get a job as a corporate/fractional/charter pilot. Is it true that some companies but their pilots in the same hotels as the guests?

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

I think that all depends on their corporate travel department, who you are flying, if your trip schedules match. You could stay at the same hotel, they might have a suite, you might have just a standard room, etc, but if your trips do not match, and/or you are flying the CEO or Sr. Investment Banker (people who earn 7 figure incomes) you are unlikely to stay in the same hotel.

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

I remember FalconCapt saying that he stayed in the hotels the guests were in. And those hotels were usually 5 star hotels.

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

My friend who flies corporate for a huge company -- you've probably read one of their publications -- stays at the same places as the execs he flies around does.

Well then why did you ask the question?!?!

I am sure if the trips match, many of them will put you in the same hotel - but if the trips are different they probably do not stay at the same hotel.

One thing I will put my money on - A Sr. investment banker, CEO of Fortune 500 is staying in a very different room then the pilots regardless of the hotel.

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

If the trips match, then they probably would stay at the same hotel. Might even get a group rate on x amount of rooms. If the pilots are flying the night before to pick up some exec the next day, it's probably the Days Inn on Airport Rd.

Re: Here\'s the New Airbus Monster!

our pilots have a company credit card they rent a car and stay where ever they want.
