Help! Student pilot concerned about future in aviation

I recently started pursuing my (hopefully) career in aviation. I started in a college program in the fall and am currently working towards my private pilots license. I absolutely love flying and can't imagine doing anything else with my life.

The issue: The other day I was wrongly arrested for a dui. I was sitting in the back right seat of the vehicle at the time but the officer assumed we had switched drivers, due to a slight spin out the DD had due to rain and so the officer took me in. I was charged and when asked to do blood testing I refused at the advice of my attorney. My question is, after the suspension of my license then dismissal of charges following after, then the expungment of said arrest, will this still impact my flying? I'm only 18 and I know how irresponsible of me it was to be drinking, which I am swearing off because it simply isn't worth it. All I want to do is fly. What should I do?
 
Only time will tell, honestly. But you need to first handle the arrest, with someone that maybe does both DUI and aviation stuff.
 
He should also be concerned about being wrongly and illegally accused of a disease that he does not have. I wish him the best.

Thoughts and ideas can change the world.

Stop beating the personal crusade drum and move on with your life already. You'll feel much better and perhaps you'll actually be able to accomplish something with your life. You're the last person on this forum that he should be taking any advice from.

I highly doubt that an assumption was the basis for the arrest. Time will tell.

Now THIS is an assumption!!!

Since you already have an attorney, he should have advised you to not discuss your case with anyone; this includes the internet!! If he hasn't told you this, allow me: Shhhhhhhhhh!

Absolute worst case, if the industry stays the way it is, the regionals/entry level 135s will hire you, no problem. 5-10 years seems to heal most wounds with the mainline carriers. Which is about the amount of time it will take you to complete training and work at a regional/entry level 135 anyways.

I wouldn't sweat it right now until you get the final result. I also wouldn't post anymore in this thread.

It's amazing how such a highly intelligent community of professionals will fall victim to a simple internet troll. It is good for entertainment value though. I guess.

The biggest issue is going to be whether or not you can go to Canada, (some crimes make you ineligible, even if you were only arrested and not convicted). However, even if you were in admissible, by the time you are ready for your ATP, you'll probably be able to apply for re-admission. That's what the regionals are going to care about the most.
This is a no brainer. Learn from your mistake, don't do it again and press on with pursuing your career. I know a pilot with a DUI and a termination, and his career is still going fine. He's pretty kick a$$ though.
Seriously though, it really depends on the state of the industry. If there's a pilot surplus, they'll only take perfect guys. If there's a shortage, they are willing to lower the bar a little.
